Likewise, the villain wore a black hat, so there are black hat SEO methods. These are banned by search engines.White hat SEO is not easy unless you own a copy of M.E, but there are people who are good at it. They build websites that are user friendly and informative that help people. They do so without violating the terms of service of search engines. White hat SEO is time consuming. It takes patience and effort to build sites using these types of techniques. Here is a list of some white hat SEO tactics:

- Internal linking: If you are using a script on your website, you should have text links somewhere on the home page to the rest of the pages on your website. This will help the web crawlers find the other pages on your site easier because the crawlers read links. Drop down menus don’t work in these instances that’s why the most important pages on your site should have texts links on it.

- Link exchange: This is one of the most important and tedious jobs in white hat SEO. You have to find similar sites and speak with their webmasters about exchanging links. Don’t just link to random sites because this isn’t going to help anyone. Find websites that your visitors will enjoy.

- Writing articles: This is another time consuming job, but that’s the MO of white hat SEO. It’s time consuming with a heavy workload. You can write articles based on your website or related to the topic of your website. Then submit these articles with a unique signature linking to your webpage to article submission sites. The submission websites put articles up on various websites over the Internet with your link attached to it.

- Unique content on your site: This is more work, but well worth the reward. Unique content inspires discussion among your viewers. You could get emails or comments based on your writings. If you have interesting information, you could have repeat viewers and others who share the website by word of mouth. Make sure you have proper keywords in your content though. You still want to get people to find your pages through search engines.
